Supply Chain: Visual Data Extraction and Processing

Client/Industry:

Niche Supply Chain & Logistics Provider

Business Challenge:

Faced with a high volume of shipping “bill of lading” documents in multiple languages and non-standard formats, the client’s manual data entry process was slow, error-prone, and a bottleneck for warehouse operations. Integration with a legacy Warehouse Management System (WMS) further complicated automation.

Gysho Solution:

  • Developed a computer vision-powered pipeline to extract structured data from scanned and digital bills of lading, regardless of language or format.
  • Applied data normalization and validation routines to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Implemented a user confirmation interface for final review and correction, ensuring trust in the extracted data.
  • Automated the loading of verified data into the client’s legacy WMS, creating a seamless bridge between modern AI and established operational systems.

Outcome/Impact:

  • Drastically reduced manual data entry workload and errors
  • Enabled near real-time processing of shipping documents
  • Improved data quality and traceability for compliance and audit purposes
  • Accelerated warehouse throughput and supported new business models

Why Gysho:

Gysho’s integrated approach to data engineering and governance—combining advanced computer vision, user-centric validation, and legacy system integration—delivered a robust, scalable solution that generic automation tools could not match.

While SaaS AI applications will continue to proliferate and address a broad range of
standard business needs, they will not be able to fully address the requirements of
organizations with highly unique, confidential, or regulated workflows. For these,
bespoke or custom AI development remains essential.

Generic SaaS AI will remain the default for common, non-sensitive use cases.
However, the demand for bespoke AI will grow in parallel, driven by organizations with
unique compliance, integration, or IP requirements.

By the end of 2025, over 70% of regulated enterprises will have at least one missioncritical AI solution developed as a bespoke engagement, not as a SaaS product, due to
ongoing concerns about data security, custom logic, and integration.
